چکیده

Background: The efficacy of aspirin combined with low molecular weight heparin in the treatment of habitual abortion is controversial. The efficacy of aspirin combined with low molecular weight heparin versus aspirin alone for habitual abortion is still unclear. Aim: The purpose is to compare the efficacy of low molecular weight heparin therapy versus aspirin monotherapy for habitual abortion. Methods: The PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Chinese Biology Medicine (CBM), VIP database and Wanfang database were searched to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about aspirin combined with low molecular weight heparin in the treatment of habitual abortion without date or language restrictions (last search up to April, 2016) and reference lists of relevant reviews were checked to identify additional studies. We calculated relative risk (RR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) using Stata 14.0 software. Results: The results of meta-analysis suggested that combination therapy improved the live birth rate [RR, 1.18, 95% CI, (1.06, 1.31), I2=0%, P=0.002] and significantly reduced abortion rate [RR, 0.55, 95% CI, (0.44, 0.69), I2=2.1%, P=0.000] compared with aspirin monotherapy. Conclusion: Combination therapy shows benefic effects in the treatment of women with habitual abortion and is better than aspirin alone therapy. Further study is required to confirm these findings.

Prevention of pre-eclampsia by low-molecular-weight heparin in addition to aspirin: a meta-analysis.

OBJECTIVE To estimate the impact of adding low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) or unfractionated heparin to low-dose aspirin started ≤ 16 weeks' gestation on the prevalence of pre-eclampsia (PE) and the delivery of a small-for-gestational-age (SGA) neonate. METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was performed by searching the medical databases Pub...

Aspirin plus heparin or aspirin alone in women with recurrent miscarriage.

BACKGROUND Aspirin and low-molecular-weight heparin are prescribed for women with unexplained recurrent miscarriage, with the goal of improving the rate of live births, but limited data from randomized, controlled trials are available to support the use of these drugs. METHODS In this randomized trial, we enrolled 364 women between the ages of 18 and 42 years who had a history of unexplained ...

Combination of heparin and aspirin is superior to aspirin alone in enhancing live births in patients with recurrent pregnancy loss and positive anti-phospholipid antibodies: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials and meta-regression.

OBJECTIVE The combination of heparin and aspirin was regarded as the 'standard therapy' for patients with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and positive aPL antibodies to enhance live births, but it largely stems from expert opinion. We performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to assess whether this combination works better than aspirin alone. METHODS RCTs testing the eff...

Antithrombotic Treatment for Recurrent Miscarriage

Combined use of heparin and aspirin is frequently prescribed for treatment of recurrent miscarriage (RM) in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), or in those without apparent cause of RM other than thrombophilia; however, this strategy is largely based on expert opinion and has not been well studied. The option for the use of different antithrombotic therapies to improve live birth rem...
